Terms & Conditions

The rules that keep our storage service fair, safe and transparent for everyone.

Payment Policy

R850 per 6.3 m³ unit per month, payable in advance. Collection, return delivery and optional once-off labour are separate.

Payment Terms

  • Storage is billed at R850 per 6.3 m³ unit per month, in whole units, and is payable monthly in advance.
  • Approximately R135/m³ per month is a space-guide comparison only and is not a per-cubic-metre billing rate.
  • No deposits are required to commence storage services.
  • There are no hidden storage fees. Collection is a standard once-off fee of R600 from our Epping warehouse, shown on your quote before booking. Return delivery is quoted separately when you request your items back. Any unknown transport charge will be confirmed before booking.
  • Optional carrying and loading assistance costs R200 per person once off, with one person allocated per booked unit. It is not charged monthly or automatically charged again for return delivery.
  • Invoices are issued monthly and must be settled before the next billing cycle begins.
  • Failure to make timely payment may result in suspension of collection or return services until the account is brought up to date.

Storage Services

  • PickupStorage provides unit-based storage for household, student, business and document items, billed at R850 per 6.3 m³ unit per month with a one-unit minimum.
  • Estimated item volume is divided by 6.3 m³ and rounded up to determine the minimum number of whole units required. Customers may reserve additional units but cannot reserve fewer than the estimate.
  • Space estimates are a guide. Actual fit depends on item dimensions and how items can be safely packed, and oversized items may require manual review.
  • Items are stored in our secure, monitored facility on labelled shelving.
  • The minimum billable storage period is one (1) month.
  • Customers may request the return of any or all stored items at any time, subject to reasonable notice.
  • We reserve the right to refuse storage of hazardous, perishable, illegal or prohibited items.

Collection & Delivery

  • Door-to-door collection and return are available across Cape Town and surrounding areas.
  • Collection is a standard once-off fee of R600 from our Epping warehouse, shown on your quote before booking. Return delivery is quoted separately when you request your items back.
  • Customers must ensure items are packed, labelled and accessible at the agreed collection time.
  • Missed collection or delivery appointments may incur a rebooking fee.
  • Access to the storage facility by customers is not permitted.

Liability & Insurance

  • PickupStorage exercises reasonable care in handling and storing customer belongings.
  • Your goods are covered under PickupStorage's insurance policy with OUTsurance while in transit and in storage, subject to the policy terms, limits and exclusions.
  • Customers with high-value or irreplaceable items should declare them at booking so cover adequacy can be confirmed.
  • Our liability for loss or damage is limited to the direct replacement value of the affected item(s), capped at the total storage fees paid in the preceding twelve (12) months, except where covered by our insurance policy.
  • We are not liable for damage arising from pre-existing defects, inadequate packing by the customer, or force majeure events.

Termination

  • Either party may terminate the storage agreement with fourteen (14) days' written notice.
  • Upon termination, the customer must arrange for the return or disposal of stored items within thirty (30) days.
  • Items not collected within thirty (30) days of termination may be disposed of at the customer's expense.

Privacy

  • Personal information collected during quoting, collection and storage is used solely for service delivery and billing.
  • We do not sell or share customer data with third parties for marketing purposes.
  • Contact details may be used to send service-related notifications and invoice reminders.

Governing Law

  • These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
  • Any disputes shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation, and thereafter through mediation or arbitration in Cape Town.
