Furniture Storage in Cape Town

Sofas, beds, dining tables, wardrobes and appliances — collected from your door, wrapped, inventoried and stored in a secure Cape Town warehouse from R850 a month.

Furniture we store every week

If it belongs in a home, we've almost certainly stored one. Larger pieces are the reason most people call us in the first place — they're awkward, heavy, and easy to damage in a rushed move.

  • Sofas, couches, armchairs and recliners
  • Beds, mattresses, headboards and bases
  • Dining tables, chairs and coffee tables
  • Wardrobes, chests of drawers and cabinets
  • Fridges, freezers, washing machines and tumble dryers
  • Desks, bookshelves, TV units and mirrors

How your furniture is protected

Furniture damage happens at the two ends of a move — the loading and the storing. We wrap upholstered pieces and blanket hard surfaces before anything leaves your home, protect corners and legs, and load with straps rather than stacking pressure. In the warehouse, furniture is stored indoors, off the floor where appropriate, dry and out of direct sunlight, so timber doesn't warp and fabric doesn't fade. Everything is photographed and labelled on arrival, so its condition is on record.

Storing furniture during a house move

Cape Town moving dates rarely line up neatly. Transfer gets delayed, the new lease starts three weeks after the old one ends, or the buyer wants occupation early. Instead of squeezing a household into a garage or paying for two rentals, put the furniture into storage for the gap. We collect on your last day, hold everything for as long as the gap lasts, and deliver to the new address when you have keys — with the same team who packed it.

Furniture storage during renovations

Building work and furniture do not mix. Dust gets into upholstery, plasterers need floor space, and a covered couch in the middle of a room slows every trade down. Clearing furniture out for the duration costs far less than replacing a scratched dining table. Because we return items individually, you can bring the bedroom back once the bedroom is finished, and leave the rest with us until the kitchen is done.

Long-term furniture storage

Emigrating, travelling for a year, letting your place furnished elsewhere, or holding onto family pieces you're not ready to sell — long-term storage is priced exactly the same way, month to month at R850 per unit (each unit is 6.3 m³). There's no long-term contract to sign and no penalty for ending early; you simply stop paying once your furniture has been delivered back. Insurance stays in place for the whole period.

Keeping your furniture storage cost down

Because you're billed per unit, a little preparation can save you a whole unit's worth of cost. Beds broken down flat, tables with legs removed, and drawers packed with linen instead of stored empty all help your items fit into fewer units. Our team can disassemble standard items on collection if you flag it when booking. Appliances should be emptied, defrosted and drained the night before so they can be loaded dry.

Getting your furniture back

Request a return by phone, WhatsApp or email, tell us which pieces you need and where they're going, and we schedule a delivery. Because every item carries a label tied to your inventory, you're never forced to take the whole load back at once — plenty of customers retrieve a desk or a bed months before the rest.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

How much does furniture storage cost in Cape Town?
Storage is billed at R850 per unit per month, with each unit giving you 6.3 m³ of space. A sofa, bed and dining set will usually need far fewer units than a full house — you only book as many units as you need.
Do you wrap and protect furniture?
Yes. Our team wraps and blankets furniture before loading, and items are stored indoors on racking or protected flooring, away from damp and direct sun.
Can you store appliances like fridges and washing machines?
Yes. Appliances should be emptied, defrosted and drained before collection. We transport and store them upright and protected.
Do you disassemble beds and tables?
We can break down standard beds and table legs to save volume and reduce your monthly cost. Let us know when booking so we allow time for it.
Is furniture insured while stored?
Yes — fire, theft, transit and accidental damage are covered under our OUTsurance policy at no extra cost to you.
Can I get one piece of furniture back early?
Yes. Everything is labelled and inventoried, so you can request a single item — a desk, a chair, a bed — and we'll deliver just that.
