Student Storage in Cape Town — We Collect From Your Res

Student life in Cape Town runs on short leases and long holidays. Res closes, a sublet ends, an exchange semester starts — and suddenly a year's worth of belongings needs somewhere to go. Driving a bakkie home to Joburg or Durban with a mattress strapped to the roof is not the answer, and neither is paying for an empty flat over the break. We give you a simple middle option: we come to you, take everything away, and bring it back when term restarts.

Most student loads are smaller than people expect, which keeps the price low. A typical single-room load is a handful of boxes, bedding, a desk lamp, a kettle and a few personal items — often under 2 m³.

Build an itemised quote on our online calculator, then confirm a collection slot with us on WhatsApp, phone or email. On the day, our team arrives at your res or flat, wraps and protects anything fragile, labels every box and loads it. Everything is inventoried on arrival at the warehouse. When you're back in Cape Town, message us with a return date and address and we deliver it to your door.

Storage is charged by volume at R206 per m³ per month, starting from R52/month — you only pay for the space your things actually take up, not a fixed unit size you'd never fill. There is no deposit and no hidden storage fee. Collection and return delivery are quoted separately and upfront, based on distance from our Epping warehouse and the size of the load. Splitting a collection with housemates is the best-value way to do it.

We collect from student areas right across the city — Rondebosch, Observatory, Mowbray, Rosebank and Claremont in the Southern Suburbs, the CBD and Gardens for city-based students, Bellville and Parow in the Northern Suburbs, plus surrounding suburbs by arrangement. If your residence has controlled access, let us know the gate procedure and a contact number when you book.

Your belongings are stored on organised shelving inside our managed, controlled-access warehouse — not a public self-storage unit you share a corridor with. Everything is labelled and inventoried so nothing goes missing between semesters, and it's all covered under our OUTsurance policy while in our care, so you don't need to arrange any extra cover.

Longer stints abroad work the same way, just with a longer storage period. If you're graduating and moving cities, we can hold everything until your new place is ready and deliver it then. Tell us roughly how long you need and we'll keep the arrangement flexible month to month.
